Following this year’s Bluebird Care Awards, we’re taking a moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the incredible team members who were nominated.
Being nominated for a Bluebird Care Award is a fantastic achievement, recognising the dedication, compassion, and commitment shown by individuals who go above and beyond in their roles every day.
Whether it was for delivering exceptional care, showing outstanding leadership, or making a difference behind the scenes, each nomination reflects the values we’re proud to uphold as a team.
A huge well done to all those who were recognised – you inspire us all, and we’re proud to celebrate your hard work and contribution.
Now, onto the nominees:
Hattie’s nomination for Team player:
I am delighted to nominate Harriette Jobson for the Team Player Award, in recognition of their exceptional leadership, dedication, and unwavering support to both staff and our customers.
Harriette is the embodiment of a true team player—always ready to lend a hand, listen with empathy, and lead by example. In their role as Case Manager , they consistently go above and beyond to provide additional support to the care team, ensuring they feel confident, capable, and valued. Her approach to supervision is not just about oversight—it’s about empowerment, trust, and shared success.
A strong advocate for quality, Harriette has a keen eye for detail and is constantly working to raise standards across the board. Her focus on improving both staff performance and customer experience has made a measurable impact on the overall standard of care we provide. Harriette is not afraid to challenge when necessary, but always does so constructively and with compassion.
What truly sets Harriette apart is her ability to connect—with colleagues, care staff, and customers alike. She brings with her humour, warmth, and professionalism into every interaction, making people feel heard, respected, and supported. Whether it’s resolving an issue, celebrating a small win, or offering encouragement on a tough day, Harriette is at the heart of our team culture.
Through their dedication, integrity, and strong alignment with our values, Harriette has helped to build a more engaged, motivated, and high-performing care team. Her commitment to continuous improvement and their natural ability to bring people together make her not only a fantastic Case Manager , but a truly outstanding team player.
Eloise’s nomination for care expert:
With genuine admiration, we nominate Eloise for Care expert of the year award. Eloise is always bright, bubbly and deeply compassionate and brings warmth and positivity to every environment she enters. Her presence uplifts both colleagues and customers alike and her natural ability to connect with people makes her truly exceptional in her role. Eloise is more than a carer, she is a source of comfort, laughter and trust for everyone she supports. Her sense of humour brightens even the most challenging of days and her consistent willingness to go the extra mile sets her apart. Whether this is staying later to ensure someone is settled or stepping in to help her colleagues without hesitation. Eloise leads with her heart and integrity in everything she does. Eloise is respected by all she cares for, not only for her professionalism but for her genuine kindness and her ability to make people feel seen, heard and valued. Her dedication and reliability and attention to detail is outstanding. Simply put, Eloise embodies the values of what it means to be a Bluebird Carer, caring not only in duty but in spirit. It is rare to find anyone who blends humour, humanity, dedication and hard work so seamlessly, even rarer, to have the privilege to work alongside her. For tireless commitment, uplifting energy and the difference she makes every single day, Eloise is incredibly deserving of this recognition.
Kim’s nomination for :
Kim, since joining us has worked tirelessly to deliver the highest quality of person centered care to our customers and in doing so has earned the trust, respect and gratitude of her customers and colleagues. Kim moved into the position of senior care assistant and has helped the business ensure the best standards of care delivery, ensuring safety, quality and all the while maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships with her colleagues. If a visit goes down and cover is required, Kim is the first to pick up. Working over her hours and schedule to ensure that the customers are safe and feel secure. Volunteering to go out on her weekends off to ensure new customers are welcomed into the business safely and effectively. Just today, Kim has gone out to support a colleague, returning to work after a period of absence due to anxiety, on her day off to support and reassure them back into their role. During this shift, they uncovered a significant incident that has come about when care was not required and she has stayed with that customer, ensuring their safety, getting medical advice and support and working through without lunch to make sure all was well. She is truly a asset to the team!
Zara’s nomination for :
Zara Nisa’s journey with Bluebird Care is nothing short of inspiring. Beginning as a care assistant, she quickly rose through the ranks to Team Leader and now serves as a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager. Zara truly embodies the heart and soul of Bluebird Care — consistently going above and beyond for both our customers and her colleagues. Her unwavering positivity and warm, can-do attitude uplift everyone around her. She regularly supports new recruits, guiding them with patience, encouragement, and expertise. Zara often volunteers to cover additional shifts at short notice, ensuring continuity of care for customers and reducing pressure on the wider team. Her impact extends beyond the workplace. Zara recently represented Bluebird Care at Newcastle College, speaking to Health and Social Care students and inspiring the next generation of carers. She also frequently brings in treats for the office team, always looking for ways to boost morale and create a positive working environment. Zara’s loyalty, commitment, and natural leadership have made a significant difference in the lives of both customers and colleagues. Her ability to support others in times of need, while maintaining a joyful and caring spirit, is a rare gift. She is the very definition of a Team Player – knowledgeable, compassionate, and a role model to us all. Zara’s contribution to our team and community makes her truly deserving of this award.
Johns nomination for Registered Manager of the Year:
John has consistently demonstrated what it means to be an outstanding Registered Manager. His systematic and process-driven approach has not only ensured safe practice across his services but also laid the foundation for long-term quality and consistency in care delivery. Over the past year, John has led the development and implementation of robust ways of working that have strengthened processes inline with policy, improved oversight, and empowered his team with clear guidance and accountability. His dedication to embedding safe, efficient systems has had a direct and measurable impact on service quality and customer satisfaction. What truly sets John apart is his innovative approach to governance. He identified a gap in how we monitored service performance and proactively developed a governance tool using our care management system. This centralises key information for audits, into one accessible dashboard. For these reasons, I believe John is a standout candidate for Registered Manager of the Year.
Annie’s nomination for Team Player of the Year:
Ann-Marie Bowyer is the definition of a team player. Balancing her responsibilities as Finance Manager with her appointment as General Manager across the group, Ann-Marie continues to lead with dedication, and the commitment to supporting every area of the business. She is the person you can always rely on, whether it’s stepping in to support recruitment, assisting with operational challenges, or managing finances under pressure, Ann-Marie never hesitates to roll up her sleeves and do what needs to be done. Her support is not limited to her job titles, she leads by example, encourages collaboration, and uplifts the team around her every single day. Ann-Marie’s leadership style is grounded in action. She’s consistently the last one out of the office, ensuring nothing is left unfinished and no team is left behind. Even with a demanding workload, she remains approachable and solution-focused, with an innate ability to prioritise what matters most for our teams and customers. Her ability to juggle complex roles, maintain morale, and deliver results without compromising on care or quality makes her an invaluable asset to the group. She doesn’t seek recognition, but truly deserves it. For these reasons, I nominate Ann-Marie for Team Player of the Year.
Erin’s nomination for Communications and Marketing Champion:
Erin is the person behind the day-to-day implementation of the marketing duties across our group. As our Digital Marketing Executive, she not only supports the delivery of our brand strategy but also takes full ownership of implementing key elements of our wider marketing plans and material creation. Over the past year, Erin has been involved the execution of campaigns across digital and offline channels, consistently ensuring high-quality output that aligns with our brand. Most recently, she has been instrumental in the successful delivery of our recent Dementia Care campaign throughout Q2. From planning content calendars and coordinating creative assets to managing ads and organic posts and. She brings structure and momentum to our communications and is always proactive in contributing ideas that keep our messaging fresh, relevant, and impactful. Erin also supports internal communications and has helped improve staff engagement through regular updates and newsletters. Beyond her technical skills, Erin’s positive attitude, adaptability, and eye for brand consistency have made her an essential part of our team. For these reasons, I believe Erin is a deserving winner of the Communications and Marketing Champion award.
