Welcome to Our Year-End Newsletter!
As we approach the close of 2024, we’re excited to reflect on what has been an incredible year for Bluebird Care. Together, we’ve accomplished so much, and it’s all thanks to the dedication and passion of our amazing team.
This year, we celebrated winning two prestigious awards at the Bluebird Care Awards, a testament to the outstanding care and commitment we deliver every day.
In the spirit of giving back, our team completed a 12.7km walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. It was an inspiring day, filled with determination and the collective goal of supporting such a vital cause.
We’re also thrilled to share that we achieved an impressive 71/100 in our employee satisfaction score! This places us as a highly satisfied workplace, proof of the supportive, positive, and collaborative environment we strive to create for everyone.
Here’s to celebrating our shared successes and looking forward to an even brighter 2025. Thank you for being such a vital part of our journey!

We visited Newcastle College

We won TWO awards at
The Bluebird Care Awards
Joe, Vicky, Rob, David and Fatou attended the Bluebird Care awards, with Joe, Rob, Vicky and Fatou being nominated for awards. We managed to come away with not one but two awards, going to Rob, for Team Player award and Fatou winning Community Engagement award!



Our carers took part in
The Great North Run
Our amazing carers Abbey, Chantelle and Louise took part in the Great North Run with our desired customer Mr S, this was a monumental moment, pushing barriers for our customers!



We walked 12.7km for
Alzheimer's Society
We then took part in a huge national fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society and managed to raise £50,000 along with all the other franchises.
We walked 12.7km from our office in Boldon to Penshaw Monument, in a time of 2 hours 30 minutes!
We joined the pledge to raise £50,000 for Alzheimer’s Society and we showed our commitment to this yesterday on our walk.








We got great feedback in
the staff survey
In the 2024 staff survey, we achieved a fantastic score of 71 out of 100 on the Employee Satisfaction Index, indicating that we have a highly satisfied workforce. This is a great result, and we want to thank you all for your continued dedication and feedback.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are committed to building on these positive results. A key focus will be embedding a robust rewards and recognition scheme that truly reflects your needs and contributions. But we can’t do this without your input.
We want to hear from all of you to help us shape this scheme. The marketing team will be reaching out in the first three weeks of January to chat with you and gather this vital information. Your voice is essential in creating a program that works for everyone.
We tripled our target in Our Elf Run
We’re thrilled to share that during our annual Elf Run this year, we didn’t just meet our fundraising goal for the Alzheimer’s Society—we tripled it! What started as a fun-filled event quickly turned into an inspiring display of generosity and teamwork.






We had a Massive rebrand

Our staff night out success
This year, a special highlight was the success of our first fully inclusive team nights out, expertly organized by Rob Mackins. A big thank you goes to Annie and David for their support in making these events possible.
Both evenings were thoroughly enjoyed, with great food, drinks, and the chance to connect and get to know one another better. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many agreeing that the nights contributed to building a more cohesive and close-knit team.
While not everyone could attend, lessons have been learned, and future events will be planned with staggered dates to ensure more team members can join in the fun. These nights have set the tone for more inclusive and engaging team-building experiences to come!

Our new approach
In the new year, we will be take a new approach to our newsletter, a more lighthearted and easy read approach to keep you all engaged. This will be more informative, with emphasis on achievements and good work, similar to how this is set out.
Please note any feedback on our newsletters is vital and we appreciate it.
